	Nostalgia

It’s the sensation of falling, as if you have stumbled over the edge of time and suddenly plunged into a fissure of fractured hours. A sense of landscapes already seen, and it’s as if you can hear the echo of emotions once lived. And then this echo catches up to you in real time, and you find yourself back in the present. In my own words, nostalgia is the feeling of a future already lived, preserved in the memory of the past, and unexpectedly relived in the present.

I am intrigued by this feeling of déjà vu

, the thrill of mythological time — that time which has come to a halt in our archetypal consciousness, yet continues to exist in the present. Like a soul roaming amongst bodies, the mythological coil of time wraps itself around the hands of a clock. To me, nostalgia is a physical experience where one may briefly relive the time of myths.

In nostalgic experiences, there is a sense of being transported to a world where a second feels like hours. A world where everything thrives in everlasting and evergreen stalemate.

Resemblance, monotony, routine—they follow me everywhere.

The endless loop of the clock hand, the snake biting its own tail, and I —

a future offering to the roots of the World Tree.

In such moments, an invitation emerges; a call to embark on a mythological journey, a return to the timeless echoes of great ancestors.

For Don Quixote, such a guide was the dull world of the landowner and the animated chivalric romances. For me, it is the bureaucratic world and

 the relentless march of

technological progress,

which has reshaped my knightly sword into a 35mm lens.

Through this lens, I pierce the fabric of my everyday life.

A quantum fragment of the world freezes on the film, creating a new, unique universe —

a universe where time stands still, a universe of myth.

And like those windmills that transformed into giants, the road ahead leads to wonders.

Great Time is revived in reverse; life is infused with ether. Once again, it becomes possible to live poised on the edge of modernity and Eternal Time, treading the fine line between the fleeting present and the infinite.

I often feel a lack of meaning in my life—a sense that I am searching for something elusive. In this pursuit, I know I am not alone; many others stand beside me on this same uncertain path.

Walking through the streets, you notice that every house has its place on the map. A phone can plot a route to any point. A blue line will connect your position on the map with the chosen destination, becoming a guiding thread, much like Ariadne’s one. Technology has made our lives easier, more productive, and practical.

Yet, for all its wonders, it fails to imbue my existence with purpose. There is no technology capable of inspiring me to embark on this journey along the thread to meet the Minotaur, even if the route has already been charted and the invitation long sent.

But this journey doesn’t have to be one-way. After all, Theseus returned home. Yet, it is a daunting undertaking. It is comparable to the journey of Stephen Dedalus or Leopold Bloom through Dublin—

figures who, in their ordinariness, are not so different from us.

Like Theseus or Bloom, we are protagonists in our own myths, navigating a landscape both personal and universal.

At times, we recognize that our lives unfold with the grandeur of shared archetypes, stories etched into the human condition. At other times, we tread cautiously, uncertain of where the lines of our histories will lead.

Yet in this balance, a truth emerges: we are always walking the thread, always uncovering meaning—even when it feels beyond our grasp.

I am not opposed to the capitalist world, but I want to feel more from life than just comfort. I wish not to rush into a dragon’s lair, but, like Perceval, I want to walk through the world along the middle path—maintaining balance and moving towards the Holy Grail.
Making mistakes is my duty, like Saint Peter, who out of fear denied Christ three times. Like Fionn mac Cumhaill, who, driven by jealousy, brought about Diarmuid's downfall. Like Perceval, who, standing before the Fisher King, failed to ask the question that burned within him.
We are all like the heroes of myths and legends. They are our reflection, and we are their continuation.

In my work, I strive to convey the spirit of the myths that surrounds us. To do what James Joyce did, but in photographs — to show the myths of our time and touch the sacred, something greater than ourselves.
Joseph Campbell wrote: "People do not seek the meaning of life, but the experience of feeling truly alive." Myths are the key to this feeling, doors to deeper understanding. Mircea Eliade said that myths bring us back to the Great Time, where clocks cease to matter, and only eternity exists. By retracing the steps of heroes or recounting their stories, one may encouter the divine.
I photograph the myths that reveal doors to other dimensions. I hope one day to create my photographic odyssey and share it with others.
